Gema Holdings Limited
In 1997, we initiated the launch of GEMA Holdings Limited, a public unlisted company, to mobilize community investment in strategic projects. The launch of GEMA was supported by prominent local community entrepreneurs such as Mustaq Ahmad of Mustafa Centre and Salleh Marican, founder and Chief Executive of the Second Chance Group in Singapore.
GEMA's first investment exercise was in Tekka Mall, a property-based project in Singapore, in strategic partnership with Hicom Properties of Malaysia.
In 2004, GEMA joined a group of Singapore investors including government-linked companies to explore investment opportunities in communication and transport infrastructure in the South-east Asian region.
Halal Consulting
In 2002, AMPRO launched its Halal Consulting division to provide Syariah advisory and Halal consulting services in Singapore and the region to companies that are interested in going halal or embark into halal services, such as in finance or eateries. AMPRO's major clients include NTUC Income and United Overseas Insurance. AMPRO has also assisted a number of restaurants and food outlets to go halal such as Seoul Garden and Breeks.
